Orpington’s wildlife is under siege.

Priory Gardens, a beautiful green space enjoyed by many, has become a hotspot for brutal catapult attacks on animals. These acts of cruelty occur multiple times a week, leaving a devastating toll on local wildlife. In just the past week alone, a squirrel was seriously injured, another was killed, and a greylag goose was found suffering with a metal ball bearing embedded in its body.
These attacks are not isolated incidents. Over the years, countless animals have been maimed and left to suffer with horrific fractures, wounds, and even missing eyes. Some languish in agony for days before succumbing to their injuries. This violence is escalating, and it’s not just wildlife at risk—people, pets, cars, and businesses in the surrounding area have also been targeted. It has to stop.
That’s why we are calling on the community to take a stand. On Sunday, April 6th at 1:30 PM, we will be gathering at Priory Gardens to distribute leaflets, speak to the public, and raise awareness about this cruel and senseless violence. We need your help to encourage the residents of Orpington to stay vigilant, report incidents to the police, and work together to put an end to these attacks.
If you care about protecting local wildlife and making Orpington a safer place for all, we urge you to join us.
