Important call to action on our End Catapult Cruelty Campaign

Naturewatch Foundation have managed to secure a parliamentary drop-in event on Tuesday 3 March 2026 to address the rapidly escalating issue of catapult attacks on wildlife, pets, people and property in the South East and beyond. This event is being sponsored by Max Wilkinson MP.

This is a really important opportunity, but to make it as effective as possible we need MPs to attend.

For too long groups of youths have been able to commit horrific acts of animal cruelty with catapults in broad daylight and suffer few consequences. It's time to take our parks and green spaces back. It's time take a stand against torturing animals for entertainment and TikTok videos.

We are asking supporters to take a few minutes to contact their local MP and urge them to attend the parliamentary drop-in on 3 March. MP attendance genuinely matters and helps ensure this issue is taken seriously at a national level.

You can find your local MP here.

Here's a template email you can send - just copy and paste:

Subject: Parliamentary drop-in on catapult attacks on animals – 3 March

Dear [MP’s name],

I am writing regarding the rapidly escalating issue of catapult attacks on animals.

Across South East London, wildlife and pets are being deliberately targeted with ball bearings and other projectiles, causing severe injuries and prolonged suffering. These incidents are frequently filmed and shared on social media, with little apparent deterrence. Despite being criminal offences, enforcement is minimal and residents report feeling unsafe in local parks where the same individuals repeatedly offend.

I am writing to ask whether you would be able to attend a parliamentary drop-in event on Tuesday 3 March, bringing together wildlife organisations and campaigners to highlight the urgency of this issue and the need for stronger regulation and enforcement around catapults.

Further details about the campaign and parliamentary petition can be found at www.endcatapultcruelty.com/

Your attendance would send a strong message that animal cruelty and public safety concerns are being taken seriously.

Kind regards,

Please take five minutes to do this. For them!
