Yesterday, we gathered at Priory Gardens to take a stand against the shocking rise in catapult attacks on wildlife - an issue that has caused immeasurable suffering to countless animals across the country.

What was once a place associated with cruelty and pain became, for a few powerful hours, a place of unity, hope, and determination. It was heartening to see so many compassionate people come together at this notorious hotspot to demand change and show that animal cruelty will not be ignored or accepted.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and raised their voices, and especially to the Priory Gardens Wildlife Foundation, who have been fighting for years to get someone to listen. Your persistence and courage have helped keep this issue in the public eye. We’re also deeply grateful to Councillor Kim Botting for marching alongside us and showing that local leaders can and should take a stand for animal welfare.

Today, my throat is hoarse - both literally and metaphorically. Speaking out can be exhausting, but silence is not an option. We’ll continue to shout, campaign, and push for change until catapult cruelty is no longer tolerated in our communities.

Yesterday was proof that when people unite for good, even the darkest places can become symbols of hope.
